Kai's Story Part 17 Kai heard a weak knock at the front door. Cracking one eye open he glanced at his alarm clock. 'it's after 11pm… who in the world could that be?' Kai thought to himself as he tossed the covers off himself to go check the door. He opened the door to his room, only to see that Kyle had already made it halfway across the apartment to the front door. In the dim light, Kai could see that Kyle was holding a large dagger with an orange gem inset in the handle. Kai whispered, "Is that really necessary?"
Kyle looked at Kai with an uncharacteristic, cold expression, "One cant'

"Oh no ya don't… going up the stairs will cause your heart to beat faster and your might bleed more. Will take the elevator." Tabby pushed the button that would bring the claustrophobic contraption to the first floor. Seconds later the bell chimed and the stainless steel doors slid open. Stepping inside, Tabby waited by the control panel, his light gray fingers ready to push the appropriate button.

"You really don't like elevator music, do ya?" He said, as Kai's ears were back against his head.
Kai shook his head, no. It took a few moments for the elevator to travel from the 18th floor to the 1st. As the doors opened on the first floor Kai pushed his way forcefully through the doors before they had opened fully.
"Geez! I didn't think we'd ever make it down here." Kai opened his arms, gesturing to the first floor lobby.
Chad smiled at the blue and white cat, wearing his clothes. "Well… We'd be all day if we took the stairs."

Kai's Story Part 14 Kai felt a warm breath, on his neck and a light heaviness across his chest. Slowly opening his eyes, he saw a brown, furry, muscular arm draped across his chest. He rolled his head to his left side and found himself nose to nose with Chad's sleeping face. Kai smiled and puckered his lips out to kiss him lightly on the nose. Chad only stirred slightly as Kai pulled his lips away from the kiss. For the first time in his life, he felt safe and warm… he belonged here. Kai reached up and put a hand on Chad's arm.
